Tony Taylor

Executive Chairman

Tony is one of the co-founders of TMD. As Executive Chairman, he provides the overall strategic direction for the company as well as maintaining relationships with key customers to ensure they are served by the best technology and implementation services. As a proven, successful business leader, Tony has over 30 years’ experience within the communications, broadcast, and media sectors. He has negotiated and delivered long-term service and high-value product contracts to many of the world’s best-known broadcast and media organisations. Tony is a well-known speaker on the international conference circuit, presenting papers on, amongst other topics, the importance of integrating media asset management and workflow processes, and the role of technology in helping to meet some of the broadcast industry’s most pressing challenges.


Justin Elkerton

Chief Operating Officer

Justin is a co-founder of TMD with Tony Taylor. He is a highly experienced operational director, combining this with considerable technical acumen and strong account management skills. Justin started his career as a software developer, before moving into senior management roles. At TMD he is responsible for all operational aspects of the company, as well as working with Tony on strategic sales and marketing activities.


Jo Sims

General Manager, Americas

Jo has been General Manager of TMD’s North and South America operation for nearly 10 years.  She has a wealth of experience in project management for over 20 years, 10 of which were with Disney’s international and domestic TV Distribution and Broadcast Operations group. Jo has an extensive background in large, multi-million dollar projects in the broadcast television and software arena and has managed several large integration projects at TMD for prestigious customers including Discovery Communications, National Geographic, The US Senate, and the Arts & Entertainment Networks.


Carlton Smith

Chief Executive Officer

Carlton is CEO and responsible for the day-to-day running of the company.  Through his work on some of TMD’s biggest projects, he has an unrivalled understanding of what real-world users need when managing and processing their digital and physical assets. He has more than 30 years’ technical experience in communications and media, managing complex projects and multi skilled technical teams. Carlton strengthens both the executive and operational teams and drives the company forward, ensuring TMD offers the strongest solutions in the market.


Jon Maynard

Chief Technical Strategist

Jon is the Chief Technical Strategist and brings his longstanding, in-depth technical experience in the broadcast industry to this role.  He attended Ravensbourne School of Television before working for Viasat Broadcasting where he developed a number of software applications which brought together disparate systems from multiple manufacturers. Formerly TMD’s CTO, Jon is responsible for defining and principally overseeing the development of new technologies, in this strategic position, to keep TMD at the forefront of the digital and media asset management market sectors.
